2nd Hay Cutting

Posted by romeethredge on July 14, 2012

Rain has been better this year by far but some areas have been better than others.  Here’s James Barber with some Bermudagrass hay belonging to his son Bruce. This was the second cutting and they have cut some kind of hay from a few different fields. Hay production has been challenging due to the scattered showers but has gone well. This is Tift 85 hybrid bermuda and James says that cattle really gain well on it and like to eat it.

Here’s a link to our UGA Forages site which has lots of good hay and information. http://www.georgiaforages.com/
