Corn Planting to Get going after it dries off some

Posted by romeethredge on February 28, 2013

Very little corn has been planted, but after we get some drying it will be prime time, if soil temperatures stay up. On the Georgiaweather.net web site you can see that the 2 inch soil temperature has been above 55 degrees for several days now, but there is cold weather in the forecast.  I looked at some corn that had been in the ground for 6 days and it was growing slowly and a good ways from emerging.  See the field below, most of the field was above water except for this acre or so that was very wet. _DSC3403_DSC3405
