Rains Welcome

The rain was nice this week and it came after most of the wheat and other small grains have been harvested. We saw this rainbow over Donalsonville last night.

It will bring up some dusted-in cotton and even some peanuts planted in dry spots or clay galls. It will definitely help our thrips problem as well. Mostly it gave folks irrigating a little break.

Our groundwater levels have been suffering after almost a month without much rain at all. The first chart below shows groundwater changes in the last week or so. And below that I have the last years levels. We were at good levels in the early spring but we are low again.
