Pigweed Pulling and Survival

Posted by romeethredge on August 15, 2013

Lots of pigweed pulling going on now and with the rains there’s lots of pigweed survival and regrowth happening.  See photos below I took of surviving pigweed that had been pulled and laid down on the ground. They quickly send out new roots and will often become a problem again and produce more seed for future infestations.

It’s best to remove the pigweed from the fields or turn then roots up against cotton stalks so that roots dry out and die.
