Project Achievement – 4-H

Posted by romeethredge on February 14, 2014

We had a great group of Seminole County young people to represent us at 4-H Junior – Senior Project Achievement at Rock Eagle near Eatonton Georgia last weekend.

This was 7th through 12th graders, who worked all year on their 4H projects and then completed a recordbook or portfolio of their activities this past December. Then, this past weekend showed their talent in public speaking about their project or performing if they had a vocal or instrumental project. We also had several in foods projects that cooked in front of judges and answered questions about food safety and nutrition. We took 25 participants, the most we’ve ever had there at this event. This was a district competition(40 counties or so) and we had many high placing’s and 5 will progress on to State Congress in July.   Our leader was 4-H agent Cindy Meadows, who does a wonderful job. Program Assistant Heather Meadows , I, and bus driver and volunteer Jill Earnest went as well.

We had a large group from the Class of 2014 that we will really miss next year. They have been some great 4-H’ers. Here they are looking for the Loch Ness monster, I suppose.
