Rain Slows Corn Planting

Posted by romeethredge on March 21, 2014

Corn planting came to a halt on Sunday due to rain. We had 3.5 to 6 inches and it’s wet.  There was some planting yesterday on some sandy ground that didn’t have wet holes in the field. Previously planted corn is coming up. Brad Haire came down at the end of last week and visited with us concerning corn planting and wheat and I’ll put a link here to his good photos and report.  http://southeastfarmpress.com/grains/photos-southeast-corn-planting-hits-high-gear-wheat-coming-strong
