Corn – NCLB

Posted by romeethredge on May 12, 2014

In looking at some corn that is touching my face as I walk through the field, I’m encouraged at the good growth lately of this end of February planted corn.

I found NCLB ( Northern Corn Leaf Blight) in just a couple of spots. So it looks like it is just getting going in this field that had corn in it last year. This grower will apply a fungicide to prevent the spread of NCLB. We need to be scouting all fields now for this disease and paying close attention to fields that had corn in them last year.

I just looked back and I made a similar post last year about 3 days earlier in May. There is some good information in that post if you click on this link.
