Question of the week – Red Spotted Purple

Posted by romeethredge on July 31, 2014

Last week’s butterfly was a Red Spotted Purple, Limenitis arthemis astyanax . The larvae like to feed on wild cherry trees. The butterflies love mud puddles.

This week I have a forage question for you. What is this forage crop that we were cutting for hay this week? And what likes to eat it?

  2. Yes, it’s good hay. Hard to keep the weeds out of it.
