Corn Weed Control- Wrap Wrap Wrap
Posted by romeethredge on April 10, 2015
It’s time to wrap up over the top weed control in field corn for most of our common herbicides. Research done last year by Dr. Eric Prostko, UGA scientist, shows that late herbicides over the top can sometimes hurt corn yields when done at the V7 growth stage or later. This when we can see the collars of 7 leaves on our plants (usually about 45 days after planting).
To get our best weed control we should aim to have it all done before we get past the V5 growth stage, which is where we are right now on some early planted corn.
