Foliage feeders in Peanuts

Posted by romeethredge on July 6, 2015

There are some foliage feeders in peanuts being found in some fields. I haven’t seen a treatable level of them yet but I’m hearing of some pretty good feeding around.

I saw a few BeetArmyworms (BAW) in a peanut field . The tiny ones sometimes do some windowpaning but this one was big enough to just plain eat through the leaves. We can usually stand 4 to 8 total foliage feeders per foot, but if the vines are small (usually in young peanuts) we can’t stand many.
